You’ve probably seen plenty of pics circulating after festival season of people in onsies and superhero characters whenever there is something-anything to celebrate. It’s not always exactly clear what is happening- but it looks like fun. At the Woodford Folk Festival, there is a totally legit and probably advantageous reason that you should consider preparing a costume to bring. Trust us- there are some fun times ahead.
So imagine a game world that you are really happy to spend time playing in. It’s got a great setting and super interesting characters. Now imagine that game world has come to life. You are in it, you can interact with the characters and you are there to play- to win- yes, but also have a lot of fun.
It’s called The Game. It’s a computer game made real and follows a similar formula. It has all the elements you’d expect including going on quests, earning currency and buying magical items that are used to complete your adventure.
Everything in it is about being in the world, acting, expressing, meeting new people, losing inhibitions and being playful in public. It’s a peaceful, silly (but sort of serious fun) game for the real world. From the outside the format can seem a little complex, but like all games, it makes sense once you start playing.
