Heading out to Woodford, are you going through the mental list of things you need packed? With record ticket sales this year, we made sure to put our order in for epic festival weather and as we prepare to put the final touches on the 67th largest town in Australia, the question needs to be asked… how prepared are you? Have you got the spare batteries, the towels, toothbrush and your pillow? Did Christmas shopping take all your headspace in the lead up to the big pilgrimage out to Woodfordia? In order to relax and loose yourself in all the wonder Woodford has to offer there are a few necessities you must remember.
By all means get creative with your costume; we love to see bright colours and characters roaming the streets of Woodfordia. A pretty wreath of flowers, bright ‘Happy Pants’ or your fave super hero cape is welcome and heartily encouraged. Bring your most adventurous wardrobe to express your wild and carefree self. Let’s think practical comfortability…a light jumper and rain jacket is a must for those slight extremes that blow up; also a hat, sunscreen and refillable water bottle will keep you safe form all the summer elements.
The introduction of our new tech RFID wristbands, mean you can immerse yourself in this magical festival without the worry of carrying cash or cards around. We have conveniently located ‘Currency Exchange’ booths around Woodfordia where you can go and upload your RFID with currency to spend in any bar, restaurant or shop. You can do this anywhere you see these pretty logos.
If you’re joining the family for the entire season of the festival, it is essential you pack all the camping equipment that helps to make life easy for a week of festival shenanigans. We recommend you have an extra tarp with ropes and pegs ‘just in case’, shovel & hammer, and of course cooking apparatus. Do keep in mind there are some butane gas cookers that have been deemed non-compliant. You can check yours on our website under our ‘Prepare’ tab.
Our Festival Medical Centre has a cool storage facility for essential medications is available during events at the doctors clinic should you require this service, and there is a Doctor in attendance from 8am to 8pm each day of event. All tap water on site is of potable quality. With you our patrons being encouraged to bring a sturdy water container for use at your camp.
For those arriving today, if you have forgotten any basic supplies, the General Store will open from 8am. We implore all you generous, compassionate and inquisitive knowledge-seekers to shake off the end of the year with wild abandon; welcoming in a new chapter with our handpicked selection of talented artists, ridiculous theatre and full array of cultural merriment. Don’t forget your good humour and childlike sense of adventure!
