“In 2009 I was 27 years old with a gorgeous 6-year-old boho princess & was dealt a blow that almost crushed me. At 55 my father was diagnosed with cancer & after caring for him for 6 months he passed away. He was my biggest cheerleader in life. I made myself and my father a promise that I would stop pretending to fit the mold that others believed I should fit into. I wanted to teach my daughter that it’s important to embrace whatever beautiful, quirky and independent warrior woman you are and run with it! This brought on our tradition, a few years back, of spending a week together each year at the festival. It’s our week of bliss!
Regardless of the pain life brings throughout the year, it is my escape to a community that offers acceptance, non-judgment, laughter, new friendships, positivity & clarity. After a festival a couple of years ago I began creating again under the name of Gypsy Sunshine, I regained my passion for working with my hands and I have made some new and wonderful friends in the process. Over the last year I was dealt another agonising blow with my beautiful 53-year-old mother passing suddenly. We will again head to the festival for our week of bliss and healing.”
